Health: I put my neck out when I was sleeping!

I put my neck out last night
I have a crick in my neck.
My neck is out.
I can't turn my head.
My neck is out of alignment.
I have some pain in my neck.
When I woke up my neck was out.
I put my neck out when I was sleeping.
Out = Out of alignment.
Alignment = Straight / In line
Out of alignment = Not straight
I slept in a strange position, and now my neck is sore.
The muscles in my neck are frozen.
If I turn my head suddenly it really hurts!

Interesting point
An interesting point is that `I put my neck out for her` means `I risked my safety for her`.
Many expressions change meaning in different situations. It is usually easy to understand which meaning is meant.
